02 Jan Vertical Preparation course

10:00 am - 6:00 pm Tomorrow Tooth Academy

Day 1 Lecture + workshop

The day begins with a comprehensive morning lecture from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, covering the history of vertical preparation and its clinical evolution. Participants will explore the concept of ferrule and its relationship to different types of preparation, along with strategies to regain ferrule through techniques like surgical crown lengthening or extrusion. The session also introduces the BOPT and “Tomorrow Tooth” approaches, highlighting the biological and esthetic foundations behind them. Attendees will learn about the latest bur designs for easy and conservative tooth preparation—whether edge or edgeless—and understand the philosophy behind the inverted shoulder and retentive groove techniques. After a short coffee break from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, the course continues with an in-depth afternoon lecture from 1:00 to 3:30 PM. This session focuses on the practical aspects of impression techniques, including when to take same-day versus delayed impressions, and the use of Teflon for tissue retraction instead of traditional cords. Participants will compare two-step and one-step impressions, as well as analog versus digital workflows, gaining insight into how to achieve optimal accuracy. The lecture also covers how to finish temporary restorations for enhanced soft tissue healing, discusses lab protocols and cement gap concepts, and demonstrates the fit-checker and X-ray evaluation steps before final cementation. The session concludes with a detailed cementation protocol for predictable long-term results. Following a lunch break from 3:30 to 4:15 PM, the day wraps up with a hands-on session from 4:15 to 6:00 PM, where each participant will perform one complete tooth preparation under supervision. Candidates will learn how to trim milled temporary crowns for improved margins, perform bite registration and impression, and observe a live demonstration of digital scanning to integrate modern technology into the workflow.

Day 2 Clinical case

Experience the full clinical workflow from diagnosis to final cementation under expert supervision.
