Crown Lengthening in daily dentistry
Part 1 – Review:
Participants will explore essential concepts in smile design, including tooth size, shape, and proportion, along with an in-depth discussion of gummy smile causes and their solutions. The session also covers biologic width violation theory and ferrule analysis, helping clinicians make precise treatment decisions.
Part 2 – Surgical Procedures:
This section focuses on both esthetic and functional crown lengthening techniques. Participants will learn practical tips, essential tools, and approaches for single- and two-stage procedures. Topics include deep margin elevation, biologic shaping, and myth-busting discussions on laser use and closed flap procedures. The course also reviews alternative methods such as orthodontic extrusion and the use of Botox and fillers.
The training concludes with an intensive hands-on experience, including crown lengthening on posterior teeth, suturing techniques, and a live surgery demonstration. An optional hands-on patient session is available at an additional fee on a separate day.
